Watch Bands Battle at the Beach

The Battle at the Beach is put on by the American Legion Post 148. Come on out for a great day (and night!) of fun and music! The event benefits EOD Wounded Warrior. Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 from noon to 6pm

2010's event took place on June 26th from 11 - 11 and included performances by Gone Green, Flash Back, Acoustic Sounds by Chuck Bird, The Koolerators and Toby Keith Tribute Artist – Jett Pelley.


11:00am - 11:00pm (bands start playing at 1:00pm)

admission is $5 per person
bring your lawn chairs

    Bent Nickel

    Bent Nickel

    is one of four bands who participated in the 2nd Annual Battle at the Beach, on June 6th, 2009. Taking the stage at 2:00pm, were band members Tim Mossberg - lead vocals/guitar, Sherman Schmegelmeyer - bass guitar, Freddy Long - lead guitar, Eddie Fuller - keyboards/vocals, Roger Clark - drums, percussion. Their style of music is country, southern rock and roots with song titles like Big Wheels, Neon Lights, Dead Flowers and Know It Can't Be.

    Smith-Tucker Band

    The Smith-Tucker Band

    play a bunch of different styles, including classic rock, country, Motown and oldies. Since 1982, they have played over 1,000 shows in venues large and small, both indoors and out. Their song catalog of cover tunes numbers in the hundreds. Kim Tucker - lead vocals & percussion, Mike Tucker - Lead Guitar & Vocals, Joe Martone - keyboards & vocals, Gary "Sparky" Langley - bass guitar & vocals, Buddy Dulaney - drums

    Loose Kannon

    2008's Battle at the Beach winner was Southern Maryland's own

    which consists of John Griffin- guitars, vocals, keyboards, Earl Weigle - bass, Jay Bolles - guitars, vocals, Rod Demember - drums, percussion. Watch for them to play their brand of rock, classic rock and alternative music.


    The Koolerators

    from King George serve up a mix of Americana Roots music with some classic rock, classic country, jazz, and the blues thrown in! They play great versions of Hard to Handle and Gimme 3 Steps and the band members are: Josie - vocals, rhythm guitar, Mole - lead guitar, vocals Ed - bass, Nate - drums.
