Colonial Beach not just in Virginia
While the most well-known Colonial Beach is the one here in Virginia, it shares it's name with some other locations around the globe and in some other states in the U.S.A. Naturally, the one here in Westmoreland County, Virginia is my favorite. It's interesting to see how many namesakes there are. Casa Colonial Beach & Spa Resort is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic in Puerto Plata. It was designed by Sarah Garcia, daughter of owner Don Isidro Garcia. In the Bahamas, there's the Best Western British Colonial Beach Resort. In Mauritius, a property called Colonial Beach Hotel is situated in the small village of Pointe aux Piments on the northwest coast. Barceló Maya Colonial Beach is one of four all-inclusive hotels which combine to make up the Barceló Maya Beach Resort, situated on the east coast of Mexico along the Mayan Riviera. The state of Florida has a place named Colonial Beach in Hillsborough County A subdivision in Pasadena, MD (in Anne Arundel County) has a Colonial Beach Road Brunswick County in North Carolina has a subdivision in Holden Beach called Colonial Beach Santa Barbara, California has a B&B called the Colonial Beach Inn.
