Slot machines are expected to return to Colonial Beach in 2014! Colonial Beach hasn't had slots since the 1950’s when the Town was in the midst of a boom. King George businessman Stan Palivoda and a group of investors are looking to bring slot machines to The Riverboat. The House of Delegates in Maryland have introduced legislation that, if passed, will provide for a statewide referendum this year to amend the Maryland constitution to allow slot machines at The Riverboat (301 Beach Terrace, Colonial Beach). Since it's technically located in Maryland, our local government will not get tax revenue, but revenue from tourists, security, etc. will be a big boost to the local economy. The facility is expected to hire more employees and will be expanded and remodeled to look and feel like a Las Vegas-style casino.

Over at Dockside, Kicking Norma begins playing at 9:30pm.
Hunan Diner is having an All-You-Can-Eat buffet from 4:30pm to 9:30pm.
Down at The Lighthouse, there are pre-New Year's Eve Specials (Prime Rib, Stuffed Rockfish, Stuffed Shrimp, etc. and Wine Pairings) starting at 5:00pm until closing at 9:00pm.
American Legion Post 148 (27 Colonial Ave., Colonial Beach) is having a party. Open to the Public. Music by Slippery Dickens. $35/person or $60/couple for Dinner & Dancing. Dinner served from 6-9 and is limited to 80 people.
