Visiting Colonial Beach

I'm going to Colonial Beach with my family and I would like to know if we can bring our grill and if there is any playground?? Thank you

Katrina's Reply: There are a few playgrounds in the area. There's Castlewood Park down on the end of "The Point" and there is Washington Ave. Park across from Nancy's Ice Cream Shop. There's a swingset on the Boardwalk next to The Riverboat but no grills are allowed. We have over 25 different restaurants in the area, so you won't have any problems finding something great to eat. Enjoy your visit!

Grills
by: Anonymous

I think grills should be allowed. regardless of the 25 restaurants around the area some people can't afford the pricey food they sell. So it only seems fair to allow people to bring grills so when they do gets hungry they can feed there family while at the beach...

Katrina's Reply: Unfortunately, even though coolers full of sandwiches and snacks are allowed on the beach, people still bring grills to cook out on the sand, disposing of the hot coals in the sand which creates a safety hazard.

Parking kiosk/ parking during week
by: E Sine

Hello I have come over to the beach the last two weeks during the week. I enjoy the beach . I am not sure if we need to pay to park during week? Because I see some cars who don’t have kiosk tag.And I tried to use kiosk last week and The kiosk gave me a couldn’t read card response. Later I found out that it charged me on that card two extra times when it said it could not read. So I was charged double. And it would not take change . Not very user friendly.

Parking?
by: Cassie

Hello,

We will be coming down to spend the day at Colonial Beach. Was curious as to where I should park, and where is the best place to hang out on the beach with our family.

Thank you!

Katrina's Reply: Hi Cassie! Parking is available along Irving Ave. and on Beach Terrace. Just look for the payment kiosks, they accept coins, cash and cards.
