The Boardwalk Bathhouse

After it was decided that the current bathing and shower facilities on the Boardwalk next to the Beach Shop were no longer suitable, the building with the lovely mural painted on the side had to come down. This happened in early 2016, and just a short time later, ground was broken on a new and improved facility.

While the new building was under construction, a nice restroom trailer was wheeled in and placed on the site of the former "Throne Zone" restroom and shower facility.

Construction of the permanent facility moved right along.

It remained under construction for most of the summer.

Towards the very end of the summer season, construction was nearly complete and the building was adorned with beautiful artwork by the Montross Mural Studio. They have spruced up many other buildings in town with their wonderful works of art, many of them depicting the days of yesteryear in Colonial Beach.
