201 Wilder Avenue
201 Wilder Ave is on the corner of Washington and Wilder and is currently home to Margarita Restaurant Latin Cuisine. They opened in 2024.
Prior to that it was Sea-Side Thai and French cuisine.
Before Sea-Side it was Margarita Peruvian restaurant, but with different owners than the current Margarita staff. The restaurant was downstairs and upstairs was a bar area. I attended a Chamber of Commerce function there in 2010 or so.
The spot was a vacant lot from about the Spring or Summer of 1972 until the current brick two-story building was constructed in 1980. It is a 3,260 square foot structure and is shown in real estate listings as a three bedroom three bath single-family home.
The lot size is 7,405 square feet, or 0.17 acre.
Originally, a very different building stood at the corner which is now known as 201 Wilder Ave. The Mayfair Theatre was built in 1932 and burned in a tragic fire in 1972, shortly after some five thousand dollars worth of remodeling and renovation had taken place in the 286-seat movie house. The address at that time was 302 Washington Avenue. The house to the right of the theater still stands to this day in 2025.
