Watermens Festival

The first (and hopefully annual) Watermens Festival is scheduled for Friday, September 18th of 2026.

Come celebrate the traditions of all the fishermen, crabbers, oyster tongers and others who have worked the river and bay to bring folks the delicious harvest.

The location is the lot where the historic Crown Castle Hotel used to stand on Washington Avenue. Come and hear some great music, sample tasty beverages and get delicious oysters and other menu items from Denson's food truck.

The Historical Society are your hosts and the organizers of this event. They've got the details and stories passed down through the generations of the Oyster Wars of days past and will illustrate those tumultuous times for you.
