January 24, 2026 Ice House Marina Brewery Kitchen celebrates their 4th Anniversary!
Closed January 25 - February 3 for winter break

The building was erected by Mr. Hammond around 1900. Boats would dock and bring seafood here to be packed.
There was a large ice grinding machine onsite.
The James Adams Floating Theatre would sometimes dock here.
Past owners of the building also include Mr. Heine, Mr. Michael and business partners Aubrey Melson and Norman Brewington.
300-pound blocks of ice would come out of the chute and slide onto the decking. There used to be a cart on rails that carried ice to the end of the wharf for the boats.
Weekenders would also line up there to pick up ice for their coolers and fridges. Bait and water were also available.
It later also functioned as a power plant for the East Coast Company until the early 1950s, providing electricity to the Town.
I used to go here in the 2010s for the purpose of launching our jet ski to ride on Monroe Bay, as it had some sort of a small boat ramp and a few spots of available parking. We were friends with the property manager at the time. We also once inquired about possibly parking our boat in one of the slips.
The remnants of Atwell's Pier still stand next door. That facility was slated to be refurbished and open as Pirate's Cove Marina around 2015 or 2016 if I recall but it has not come to fruition. There was a sign next to the roadway for a little while.
In 2022 the original ice plant building opened as a marina, brewery and kitchen. I've been here for Bingo games as well as a Halloween Costume party and it is a ton of fun!

Inside there are a number of community tables, each handmade from antique doors. There's also a seating area in the corner with cozy couches and end tables under a pergola.
The opposite corner of the building has a stage for live music performances.
