World Photography Day

World Photography Day in Colonial Beach – August 16 – a full day of creativity, community, and camera magic!

Start your day at sunrise (6:00 A.M.) on the beach next to the Municipal Pier where photographers set up independently and share ideas.

After sunrise, check in at CB Creative Arts Center (114 Washington Ave.) starting at 7:00 A.M. for your lanyard, coffee, a snack and information.

Photography Sessions Throughout the Day:

• 8 A.M. – Macro Photography with Brian Jarboe at the Community Garden (320 Washington Ave.)

• 10 A.M. – Portrait Photography with Reilly Clifton in the backyard at CB Creative

• 11 A.M.–1 P.M. – Live Show Photography with Michael Hundley at the outdoor stage on Town Hill plus the Hot Rod Car Show, Rod Run to the Beach

• 2 P.M. – Specialty Portraits with Brian Jarboe at Love Bites (234 Colonial Ave.)

• 3–5 P.M. – Nature Photography with Erik Brito at CB Creative Art Center (and beyond)

• 5 P.M. – Rosette Spoonbill Photography Presentation at CB Creative

• 6 P.M. – Street Photography with the Fredericksburg Photography Collective at CB Creative (Be prepared to walk)

Enjoy WaterFest, Rod Run to the Beach, golf cart tours of LOVE signs, and vibrant festival scenes all day long.

End the day with a sunset shoot on Monroe Bay. Share your work for a chance to be featured in the WPD Photo Book and the October Art Walk.

Cost: $20 per participant (cash or a check payable to Colonial Beach Parks & Rec preferred)

We have scheduled topics and locations for participants to meet up at thru out the day to take pictures. Participants will check in at CB Creative at 114 Washington Ave . We are lining up experts to be available at each location to share their expertise. This event is from Sunrise to Sunset. You are not obligated to stay the whole day. Come to all locations or just one it is up to you. We are still working on the details. As information becomes available it will be posted in the group. Photographers of all levels and camera types including cell phones are welcome. Registration is $20 email sadams@colonialbeachva.gov to register"
