717 Marshall Ave.

Colonial Beach Community Center exterior

717 Marshall Ave. is the block that stretches from Nelson to Wirt Street. It is currently the Colonial Beach Community Center and grounds, managed by the Colonial Beach Community Center board.

LivingStone Community Church holds their weekly services here.

The Colonial Beach Community Foundation previously managed the spot beginning in 2015 after the Lions Club members numbers dwindled and they no longer needed the building or had a way to maintain it. Here's a floorplan from around that timeframe:

The "Open Covered Space" portion shown in the floorplan was enclosed and became a meeting room. The Meeting Space area is quite sizeable and is available to rent for your next function. A baseball softball field called "The Sandlot" and the outdoor performance stage are also available to rent. Here's a pic of the stage from April 2015 before it was updated.

The building was originally constructed back in 1954 with help from Sonny Camp and Martin Lunsford.

The Lions Club in Colonial Beach formed in 1959. They filed a business listing Colonial Beach Lions Club Charities, Inc. incorporated on May 6, 2004 and 804-214-9655 was the phone number they used at the time of occupying the building. District 24-A. This was their clubhouse for a number of years.

It appears that 717 Marshall Ave. was actually listed for sale in the Spring of 2009 for about $20,000. Bright MLS number 1008793566.
The listing was removed in October of that year.
